My name is Miriam, I am a Brazilian and Italian citizen who will be moving to Italy soon, June 17th. We have lived in Spain and England before and that has made all the difference in our lives. Having had this experience has made us a lot more respectful towards diversity, towards different cultures and languages, the more the better. I am passionate about languages, I have studied English, Spanish, and Italian, my mother tongue is Portuguese and I am an inborn teacher.
I have been studying, learning, and developing because I understand teaching demands constant movement and evolving for schools are territory of heterogeneity, of challenges, of possibilities to help people and that is what enchants me the most about what I do, I help people become better
and I become better myself by doing so. I have taken a degree in languages - English and Portuguese and also some specialization courses related to teaching and school management. In 2019 I concluded a master's degree in which I researched multilingualism, my dissertation is entitled Valuing multilingualism: a mapping and school language planning in Foz do Iguaçu - Paraná.
As for my working experience, I have taught the English language since I was 16 years old, I am 41.
I taught secondary school students for 10 years, also degree students for two years, and for most of my professional life, for 19 years, I worked at Wizard by Pearson. At this school, I not only taught English but also was a coordinator and manager. As a coordinator, I helped train teachers to conduct their classes following the franchisee's methodology which comprehends different methods such as the audiolingual, the communicative approach, grammar
translation, and total physical response.
I believe language teachers have an important role in helping students
realize the lives they imagine and I am eager to continue helping students achieve their goals.
