I have taught Speech, Oral Communication, Public Speaking, Debate and Argumentation, English Composition, Business English, Essay and Essay Writing, College Academic Skills in English, Scholarly Inquiry, Technical Writing, and Research and Thesis Writing. I also have taught English Syntax and Advance Grammar of English.

I believe the teaching of writing should be task- and process-based. A student has to learn how to think clearly through the various processes and stages of writing. I adopt Communicative Language Teaching (CLT). I prefer to select and use activities and tasks that are context-based, purposive, genuine, collaborative, and learner-centered. I hold on to the principle of identifying the learner’s needs and goals so that the form, content, and structure of language to be taught will be in line with the former. The needs must be linguistic and communicative in nature. The features and structure of language that a learner has to acquire must be limiting or deterring him to be functionally communicative.

In CLT I and student will identify the communicative skills the latter needs so that he can commit his targeted speech acts, participate in relevant discourse, and engage in professional speech events. Necessary linguistic and discourse features have to be introduced, focused on, discriminated, practiced, and creatively used by the student.

A Chinese sage once said, "I listen and I forget, I see and I remember, I do and I understand." Learning is about doing something with ease and confidence. So too with learning to speak and write English. It's about speaking and writing it with ease and confidence. Don't forget the fun while learning and speaking it.
