Dear hiring team, I would love to join your teaching team - having the enthusiasm and experience to do so! To speak on those skills: (for non-teaching, technical skills) working as an archaeologist in the analytical, post-excavation phases required a high level of proficiency in both technical, IT and GIS skills, while my background in archaeological community outreach projects (building on that gained the tourism and hospitality sector in central London) developed skills in event booking and management, as well as methods to build an engaging learning environment with different age groups and abilities. Additionally, performing copy-editing and other reviewing tasks on written professional reports intended for publication will provide a good background for the reviewing of English written assessments. Further, I have years of English tutoring and essay-editing skills within the university setting, and can use my TEFL skills for in-person and remote lessons, being very proficient in digital educational tools. For the last few months, I have been working part-time at the British School, Bassano, and have quickly become a core team member. As an Irish citizen I am a native speaker of English, and have full EU working rights, codice fiscale, and other administrative requirements to work in Italy. I understand the requirement to have some familiarity with the Cambridge ESL exam system and am more than willing to put in personal time to learn, in-depth, what would be required from me as a teacher before my start date.
