Hello,

I’m Barbara Post, a bilingual, TEFL certified, mother tongue English teacher with a master’s degree.

I have lived in Italy for over 17 years now in which I've been successfully teaching groups and individuals in both scholastic and professional environments at all ages and levels of proficiency.

My business English background includes work in a variety of sectors including finance, sales & marketing, engineering, law, HR, production and logistics, R&D, travel, banking, and many more. I also teach specialized courses in Public Speaking, Negotiations, Writing Skills, and Test Prep.

My university studies in both psychology and music have proven helpful in assisting my students as well. I understand that people have different learning styles and I aim to find the best way to help each individual student. My musical background helps me to understand difficulties in diction, pronunciation, and accent.

My students enjoy working with me because of my encouraging and positive spirit, together with my unique method of teaching English -- a blended learning approach which utilizes the four main language competencies (speaking, listening, writing, and reading) together to reinforce learning. I incorporate songs, news stories, TED talks, etc. based on individual interests in order to make learning more fun. When working with younger students, I often use songs or games.

I genuinely enjoy teaching and take pride in the individual achievements of my students. I am confident that I can help you to achieve your English learning goals, whatever they may be.
