Bernadett Horvath

My name is Bernadette Horváth, I’m a primary school teacher, a contemporary dancer, a children yoga teacher, and a youth mentor of arts. I was born in 1988. I’ve worked as a contemporary dancer many dance companies since I have finished my studies. In 2012, I began to learn to a primary school teacher at the University of Eotvos Lorand. I continued my studies at the Faculty of Pedagogy and Psychology, as an Educational Scientist Master. During my MA studies, I joined in two research teams at the Institute of Education (Innova - Research Group for Equality in Education; and Research Group for Education Marketing).
I spent my last year as a teacher at the Budapest School, at Hungary. The Budapest School is a school system, a network of micro-schools, where kids can gain the most essential basic skills while they have the opportunity to learn how to learn and create. In this school we build or learning environment in order to nurture the intrinsic motivation.
As a teacher my goal is to create an educational environment where children come to with joy, and where they grow to love learning I believe that providing only lexical knowledge is not a sufficient goal in education, yet it is also important to us that children acquire the knowledge necessary for the continuation of their studies.
I belive in:
The traveling is a very useful way. It moves the imagination. Our journey with the children - when we spend time together, when we learn together - is an imaginary. This is the strength of our journey. People, animals, numbers, cities, countries, things; products of the imagination. Tales, stories, experiments. So the point is: in that way, everybody can travel, it’s enough to close your eyes, and open your heart.
I believe, we can learn a lot from each other about acceptance, openness, community, and possibilities. And I believe theses are the most important things to know our world, to know each other, and ourselves.

Since my childhood the dance and the theatre have been a part of my daily life. I spent my high school years in the art school as a dancer, and then my profession became the dance art too. In addition to a classical ballet, they have received contemporary, modern and folkdance training, that has been perfected during my years in theaters and professional dance ensembles.
As a dance teacher I would like to share my passion for dance with those whom I teach. After my expierences I know that, I’m able to run a stimulating, make a challenging and varied extra cullicular dance programme. I can create a classroom atmosphere where students are welcome and peer observation is the norm. I have knowledges in coreography and instruction, and outstanding abilities to work cooperatively with students, parents, and collagues.
I have been teaching yoga and children's yoga for four years.
When I'm a teacher, I can combine in my pedagogy my experiences from dance, from the theatre, and from the yoga.
