My name is Caterina Jervasi, I am 23 years old and I live in Turin, in the north-west of Italy.
My whole family is Italian.
I graduated in Languages and Cultures of Asia and Africa,
specializing in Chinese language. I can also speak English, French and Spanish fluenlty, and
I am learning Korean as well. In the past I have taken some Arabic classes, but my level is
still low.
From February 2024, I have got the chance to study for six months at ?????? in
Shanghai, and it was the most memorable experience ever. Beside ??, where I lived in a
dorm, I travelled to ??, ??, ??, ??, ??, ??, ??, ??, ??, ?? and ?
?. In all these places, I have collected and met nice memories that I will remember for my
whole life.
So I am looking forward to being in China again.
Oh, in China I used my chinese name, which is ??, and people say it suits me well.
For several years, in addition to my academic commitments, I have been involved in
activities with children and young people: as an entertainer at a summer camp
(volunteering), as an educator at a municipal summer center, as a supervisor and entertainer
during before- and after-school programs, and I am still currently engaged – on call – in
entertaining children during events such as birthday parties or other celebrations, as well as
providing private tutoring either individually or through associations (for example in the
chinese-Italian association for Chinese kids learning Italian).
I have also worked as a waitress at both private events alongside my role as an entertainer,
and at public events such as fairs. I am therefore comfortable interacting with clients and
ensuring they feel welcome through the service.
As a part-time job, I am currently working as a tutor in all disciplinary subjects with students
from elementary to high school. If necessary, I stay with them as their baby-sitter. I also
volunteer in the Oriental Arts Museum of my city in the free time and take Korean classes.
When I am not studying, I like reading, playing with my cat, listening to music, watching
movies and hanging out with my friends.
My strengths include responsibility, cleanliness, and diligence, all of which are essential in
any job. I am punctual and take the tasks assigned to me very seriously, but I also recognize
that when working with the public, it is important to be understanding and empathetic. I like
to continuously challenge myself and explore my non-comfort zones.
