I believe that the very essence of teaching is good rapport between the student and the teacher, which is why I try my best to get to know my students, their needs and goals. In my experience, it is the positive experience of being on the same page with your mentor, both emotionally and intellectually, that brings about the most noticeable change in learning and allows it to foster a lifelong learning culture.

I am very passionate about philosophy, (self-)reflection, and the ways these can help people to live a better life.

I also like to think I'm pretty good at the more technical teaching stuff, like reading and writing techniques, language assessment and goal setting, exam preparation and many more.

I really believe that one root their language learning journey in things that are relevant to them and resonate with their interests and passions.

My English-Teacher green flags are:

- I am not going to push you into the material if you just want to talk and share

- I will try my best to explain an elusive concept in a variety of ways and give examples from real life

- I am pretty laid back, but I can be a pain in the ass when necessary

- I believe you are a responsible adult who can manage their own learning path and make mature choices in learning

- I am looking forward to you bringing content to the lesson

- I believe that language is explored in contact, not via explanations (though I will explain whenever needed)

- I believe that the best way to master a language is to interact with it and make it meaningful

- During the classes we work together to decide what and how the learning will happen

- I try to apply the lexical approach in my classroom, so we focus on learning and using phrases and expressions rather than individual words

- I teach on a variety of levels, starting from A2+ to C1
