Eimear Gervin

I am a UK fully qualified teacher with over 11 years of professional teaching experience across Primary, Middle and High School. I hold a BA (Hons) in Drama and a PGCE in Drama and English and have taught in schools across Ireland, the UK, China and Italy.

My experience includes teaching English across different age groups and abilities, including reading, creative and academic writing, grammar, comprehension, speaking and communication skills. I also have extensive experience supporting students who speak English as an additional language through my work in international schools.

My teaching methodology is student-centred, supportive and adaptable. I tailor lessons to each learner’s individual needs, whether their goal is to improve conversational English, build confidence and fluency, strengthen grammar and vocabulary, receive support with schoolwork, or develop their academic reading and writing.

My background in Drama also strongly influences my approach to language teaching. I use discussion, creativity and active learning to encourage students to communicate confidently and naturally, while ensuring lessons have clear academic objectives and opportunities to demonstrate progress.

Most importantly, I aim to create a positive environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes, asking questions and developing confidence in their English.
