Ermes Angelozzi

My name is Ermes, I am 35years old. My origins can be traced back to Abruzzo, Italy, however, I have been living in Denmark for the last 5 years of my life. Here I have studied in an international DNS The Necessary Teacher Training College, focusing on alternative pedagogy. At the moment I am working in a care home as a pedagogue for students with special needs, but I am planning to go back to Italy soon. I love to play different team sports, to travel, to play chess and to spend time in a vegetable garden growing my own food, which is an important part of my life.
I have been teaching Italian during an EVS (European Voluntary Service) in Bulgaria for 6 months, for the local people, and I have been also teaching English in Denmark for 7 month during my Teaching Practice in a school for kids with special needs, as part of my pedagogy education. During this period, I had many pedagogical possibilities to witness the importance of preparing a good lesson and always having a back-up plan. Moreover, I also understood how relevant it is to create a good connection with the students and get to know them better in order to make them feel part of the learning process and being in the driving seat of their education.
During my studying time in Denmark, I have also researched about different methods regarding how to teach a language to foreign people, such as: Total physical response and Situational language teaching.
As I mentioned before it will be important to create a connection with the Student and understand how to create an environment, which will encourage him/her to engage more in their own learning process. I have an aspiration to create a fun and inclusive learning environment and to also bring the Italian culture to the students.
