My Story

Language is much more than a communication tool.

In teaching a new language, we are helping people effectively express their individuality in a language and a culture that is not their own.

My personal experiences and natural curiosity about language have led to degrees and qualifications in Modern Languages, Linguistics and Phonetics. The decision to share all my knowledge and linguistic experience as a teacher, was natural and intuitive. I have come to believe that in order to effectively communicate with one another, we must learn how to put on a ‘hat’ and remove it, as and when is necessary, and I would like to help you accelerate this process.

I was born and raised in London, a global capital city, into an international household. English, as it is for many worldwide, was our common language. From as early as I have been able to speak, I have been negotiating the languages of my parents, friends and family; unconsciously honing a cultural sensitivity towards speech.

Growing up, I learned how to adopt personas as I switched between languages and cultures. The process hasn’t always been easy. I too, have struggled to find my voice in the other languages I speak. But everyday I find new, cultural layers expressed within the small and hidden details of language. This is what drives me to continue learning and teaching and helping others on their linguistic journeys.

I am here to listen, coach, reassure, guide, inform, model and teach. You can trust a linguist!
