Georgina Mclean

My name is Georgina and I am a qualified teacher from Australia living and working in Italy. I have experience teaching and tutoring in both Australia and Italy, in schools and privately. I specialise in teaching mathematics and English skills for young learners. My experience has been working with children from the age of 3 until 18, although I would also like to begin working with adults.

I take a personalised approach to tutoring, first speaking with students and identifying their needs in order to tailor lessons to meet their personal requirements. I am able to offer support with both spoken and written English skills, including vocabulary, grammar and sentence structure. I typically focus more on spoken activities and can provide ideas for written tasks that can be completed between sessions. I am friendly and approachable in my practice, and I work to make lessons engaging and inclusive so that you can enjoy yourself whilst learning a new language.

I typically teach through the CLIL (content language integrated learning) method for students with stronger English skills. This means that we can learn about and discuss interesting topics with a focus on underlying English rules and patterns. For developing students, I focus more on domain-specific vocabulary according to learning areas before exploring how to join and experiment with sentence creation.
