I ve been teaching italian for 30 years and I still love doing it. The first 25 in a coltural association called Dante Alighieri which is all over the world. Since I have retired I ve kept going on teaching on line. My first lesson is free because I think it's like when you buy a new dress...you must try it on to see if it suits you! I speak english, french, german, besides my mother language, I can manage with spanish. This is not essential to be a good teacher but it helps a lot especially with beginners, in order to make clear grammar points difficult to understand because they tend to use the same rules they use with their own language. During the first lesson I explane what my method consists of and I ask them what their expectations are and what their main goal is. After each lesson I send them the notes written during the lesson and maybe later on some texts. Their main homework is to go through the notes and only later on I suggest they should buy a book but also from this point of view it dipends on the student becouse lessons must be personalizes for them. I've always loved my job because I love people and different cultures.
