Hi,

I’m Henrietta. I am British, and I lived and worked in Cambridge, UK, for the majority of my life. I have now moved to the Rome area, and I am offering English conversation sessions for adults who want to practice their speaking skills.

I have previously taught English to children in Rome. While my teaching background in Italy was with a younger audience, it gave me a very clear understanding of the linguistic context here and the specific challenges Italian speakers face when learning English. I know the common grammatical pitfalls, and I can help you move away from textbook English toward a more natural British style.

I do not use repetitive textbook exercises or rigid lesson plans. Instead, my sessions are based on actual conversation and real-life context. We focus on three areas: building confidence so you feel less hesitant when speaking; expanding your vocabulary with the expressions used in the UK today; and understanding the cultural context of the language so you can adapt to different social or professional situations.

Our sessions are designed to be practical and based on your own interests. Whether we talk about current news, work, or daily life, I provide straightforward feedback on your phrasing and pronunciation as we go. Because I am also currently learning Italian, I understand the process of learning a new language, and I aim to keep the environment relaxed.

My rate is €30 per hour. I provide a professional service, and we start with a full session to make the most of the time.
