Mahsa Tahmasbi

I am Mahsa Tahmasbi and I have a master’s degree in Teaching English as a Second Language and a bachelor’s in English Translation. I also completed a TEFL course online to update my knowledge this year. I have been teaching my whole life from acting as a teacher for my dolls in childhood and tutoring my classmates at school and high school to experiencing a real teaching job since 13 years ago.
I am applying to teach at Letuelezioni because I believe my personal and professional experience would meet the school requirements as I have both theoretical and practical education.
Through working with learners of various age groups, I developed a particular interest in teaching children and young adults, a field I find both challenging and stimulating. I believe that teaching varies across different age groups, and my teaching materials are always adapted to learners’ age and learning objectives. For example, when teaching children, I rely more on videos, songs, and interactive activities rather than written or reading-based materials. Teaching in several language institutes with different methodologies has helped me understand the crucial role of the teacher in second-language learning, particularly in non-native contexts. I strongly view teaching as a mediated process in which the teacher acts as a facilitator, supporting learners in becoming confident and independent language users.
I am an active and enthusiastic person with a global view which helps me to fully dive into a new environment to pursue my idealistic point of view. Being a caring teacher, students always feel free to be in touch with me share what they think, and seek help if needed. I am thrilled to teach in an ESL environment, as I have been trained to be a second language teacher as a result of my master’s degree. A foreign country would be a great destination to practice not only my theoretical skills but practical as well in an environment other than my own country, where I do know the first language, which makes it not as challenging as a foreign country. Following the school’s methods, I would like to use both teacher-oriented and student-oriented techniques based on learners’ needs.
