Mariam Babalola

My name is Tutor Maryam, and I am a passionate teacher who enjoys helping children learn and grow. I believe every child can learn when they are given the right support, encouragement, and opportunity. My goal is to make learning simple, enjoyable, and meaningful for every student.

My teaching method is learner-centred. This means I encourage my students to participate actively instead of only listening to me. I ask questions, give examples, use simple explanations, and allow learners to share their ideas. I also use games, storytelling, pictures, short activities, and everyday examples to make lessons more interesting and easier to understand.

When teaching English, I help learners improve their reading, writing, spelling, grammar, vocabulary, and comprehension skills. In Mathematics, I explain concepts step by step and use practical examples to help students understand how to solve problems. In Science, I connect topics to things learners can see and experience in their everyday lives. I can also teach Chemistry at the appropriate level.

During my online lessons, I aim to create a friendly and welcoming environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. I understand that children learn at different speeds, so I try to be patient and adjust my explanations to suit each learner's needs.

I also use questions, exercises, and short assessments to check whether my students understand what I have taught. When a learner finds a topic difficult, I explain it in another way and provide more practice until they become more confident.

My teaching skills include lesson planning, classroom management, clear communication, patience, creativity, and encouraging active participation. I am also developing my online teaching skills through practical tutoring experience.

Above all, I want my students to enjoy learning, believe in themselves, and make steady progress. I see teaching as more than explaining a subject; it is also about inspiring children, building their confidence, and helping them develop a positive attitude towards learning.
