I offer one-to-one Biology and IMAT preparation lessons for secondary school students and prospective medical students, both online and in person here in Bologna. My goal is to help students truly understand their subjects, gain confidence in their abilities, and approach exams with clarity and strategy.
When planning lessons, I use Bloom’s taxonomy to ensure each session builds logically from understanding key concepts to applying, analysing, and evaluating them. This structured progression helps students develop deeper thinking skills rather than relying on rote memorisation. To strengthen long-term retention, I also assign active recall and spaced repetition exercises for students to complete between lessons. These methods keep knowledge fresh, improve recall speed, and make exam preparation far more efficient.
My own journey into medicine taught me the importance of using time effectively. After graduating with a BSc in Biomedical Sciences from Queen Mary University of London, I worked full time in highly demanding roles with extremely long hours. During this period, I prepared for the IMAT alongside my job, which led me to develop practical, results-driven study strategies. I now use this insight to adapt lessons to each student’s learning style, schedule, and goals.
Whether a student is aiming for excellent school grades or preparing for the IMAT, my lessons focus on building strong subject knowledge, sharpening problem-solving skills, and developing exam confidence that lasts well beyond our sessions.
