My teaching methodology is built on the belief that the English classroom should be a dynamic and interactive space where students are not just passive recipients of information, but active creators of meaning. I move beyond traditional lectures to facilitate Socratic seminars that encourage deep textual analysis and respectful debate, and I design collaborative projects that ask students to analyze everything from Shakespearean sonnets to modern-day digital narratives. For writing, I foster a workshop atmosphere, encouraging peer review and iterative drafting to help students find their unique voice and build confidence in their ability to communicate clearly and persuasively. My goal is to create a dynamic where curiosity is the driving force of learning.
In terms of content, my aim is to equip students with the critical thinking and communication skills necessary for success in any field. My curriculum balances classic and contemporary literature, non-fiction, and poetry to provide students with a diverse range of voices and perspectives. I specialize in making literature relevant by connecting timeless themes to current events and students' own lives. Furthermore, I have extensive experience in developing lesson plans that utilize differentiated instruction to meet the needs of all learners, and I am adept at integrating technology to enhance engagement and provide creative platforms for student expression.I am confident that my student-centered teaching philosophy and dedication to the English language would make me a valuable addition to your faculty.
