Silvia Prodi

My name is Silvia, a TEFL certified English Teacher with an international background.
I got my license as a professional English Teacher in 2019 but I've been teaching English for over 10 years in Italy and Spain. I've always been very passionate about the English language and about teaching.

I taught group and one to one classes of levels A1-C1 at the School Wall Street English in Reggio Emilia, Italy. I taught English classes to Spanish speakers at two different Language Academies in Valencia, Spain and since 2019 I've been teaching English online via the platforms Letuelezioni and Tusclasesparticulares. On these websites you can find the reviews of my students on my lessons.

I like to have a dynamic approach to the lessons to ensure the students' engagement and active participation. I create the lesson plans which cover the four language skills (reading, writing, listening and speaking) and prepare hands-on activities. I believe that the best way to learn a language is to enjoy what we're doing.
What makes my teaching method unique is that during the lesson we will be speaking English only. This means, whenever the student does not know a word, they'll have to find a way to express what they want to say or explain the meaning of the word in English. This allows the students to improve their vocabulary in a natural way and to become fluent in a very short amount of time. Furthermore, my teaching method allows me to teach English to students of different nationalities and languages because I will not assign translation exercises but rather speaking exercises, which will enable the student to think in English.

I keep on improving my teaching skills and I'm currently taking a CELTA Course.

My dream job is to be a full-time teacher. Witnessing the students' progress and academic success brings me joy and seeing them become more and more confident with their English gratifies me deeply.

I am currently based in Rubiera, Reggio Emilia and am currently doing the lessons via Skype. I am open to work and willing to relocate for the right opportunity.
