Sofia Korkishko

I'm an English language teacher with a Bachelor of Philology in English Language and Literature, plus hands-on experience teaching both children and adults across different age groups and levels. My lessons combine clear grammar presentation with plenty of speaking, reading and writing practice, so students actually use what they learn rather than just memorizing rules. During my teaching practice I designed an open lesson on conditional sentences paired with health vocabulary, blending structure with meaningful conversation. I bring in interactive tools like Quizlet, handouts, vocabulary cards and matching exercises to keep classes engaging and hands-on rather than purely textbook-based. Because I've taught grades 6 through 10, I know how to adapt pace, content and difficulty to each age group and learner's level. My background in translation and interpretation across Ukrainian, Russian and English gives me a strong sense of how language really works across cultures, which I bring into how I explain grammar and nuance. I'm patient, approachable and organized, which helps me manage mixed-ability classrooms while keeping every student involved. My goal in every lesson is to make English feel useful and alive — not just something to study, but a tool learners can genuinely use to communicate.
