il Go è un gioco da tavolo di strategia astratta per due giocatori in cui lo scopo è conquistare più territorio dell'avversario controllando le intersezioni vuote (libertà). Il gioco è stato inventato in Tibet Cina più di 2.500 anni fa e si ritiene che sia il più antico gioco da tavolo giocato fino ai giorni nostri.
Un sondaggio del 2016 condotto dai 75 paesi membri della International Go Federation ha rilevato che ci sono oltre 46 milioni di persone in tutto il mondo che sanno giocare a Go e oltre 20 milioni di giocatori attuali, la maggior parte dei quali vive nell'Asia orientale.
