Learning something new is a challenge for everyone. Learning a language is like a habit: if you do not use it, you lose it. . Being able to communicate in a second language takes time, effort, and determination. A great teacher should inspire and help students along their way to mastering language acquisition.
Because of my previous job in Aviation, I met people from all over the world, with different background and culture from my own. This experience permitted me to grow in patience and acquire effective communication skills.
I want to teach because I do have the necessary skills to inspire, motivate, guide and lead people towards their goals.
My target is to equip my students with the proper knowledge to create effective communication while using a second language.
Second language has come a long way and it is hard to say which method is the best. Because everyone is different, a teacher may have to use more than one approach at the same time. I prefer combining my technique to satisfy my students needs in language acquisition. I relate with the Direct, Comprehension and Communicative Approaches. They are somewhat similar in practice, with focus on lowering the affective filter to help students gain the necessary confidence to produce language.
The use of visual aids to make meaning clear, and activities like role plays, language games and role reversal make the lesson enjoyable, fun, and authentic for both the students and the teacher as well.

I would like to teach Elementary school students simply because I love the energy and excitement that children display. I passionately believe Elementary school is where it all begins. As a teacher I want to set the groundwork for a child’s academic success later.
I will be teaching by using visual aids and sounds such as songs, poems, fun games, and activities. Because children have a vivid and visual imagination, I will introduce illustrated story books to make them understand how words visualize environments, characters, food, or animals.
In a nutshell my goal is to be able to touch the life of children and develop lifelong learners who appreciate education.

Lowering the affective filter through games, music, plays, positive, warm tone and body language, helps build self-confidence and the desire to explore, learn, and even take a few risks. In my classroom there will be no right or wrong answers, just an opportunity to learn, ask questions and have some fun. In this way, children will be eager to create conversation in English and will look forward to the next class. Practice makes perfect that is why 80% of the time spent in class will be used on conversations, role playing and thinking outside the box. For this I would model an activity before students start practicing, demonstrating first what they will be working on and be sure to always answer any questions, creating in this way an effective guided practice. An example of an independent practice would be to have my students talk about their favorite food or their favorite character from a book or movie, then have their colleagues give feedback, which leads to increased interaction in the target language. As a witness, I would take notes, write positive feedback and check for any improvement required.
