Dear Hiring Manager,

I'm writing to apply for the online English Teacher/Tutor position. I've been tutoring online since 2019, mostly working with students following the Cambridge syllabus and other international curricula, and English has been one of my main subjects the whole time.
Most of my students have been primary-level kids in Qatar, though I've also taught students in the US and India. Working across different countries and age groups means I've had to get comfortable adjusting how I teach depending on who's in front of me. Not every student picks things up the same way, so if an explanation isn't landing, I'll try it from a different angle instead of just saying the same thing louder. I also try to keep lessons relaxed enough that students actually feel okay asking questions when they're confused, rather than nodding along and staying stuck.
Alongside the online lessons, I've also done local home tutoring, sitting down with a student one-on-one to go over things again in a more relaxed setting when they needed a bit of extra support. It's a slower pace than a scheduled online class, and it's taught me a lot about not rushing a student just because the clock says the lesson should be moving on.
For the online side of things, I've leaned a lot on graphics, videos, and a digital pen to keep lessons from feeling flat. Writing things out live on screen, or pulling up a quick video, tends to hold a student's attention a lot better than just talking at them, especially with younger kids who lose focus fast.
Right now I'm also doing a Master's degree at the University of Salerno in Italy. It's a different field from teaching, but being a student again myself has been a good reminder of what it's actually like to sit on the other side of a lesson, which I think makes me a bit more patient when a student needs something repeated.
