Hi and welcome to my online teaching platform! My name is Carolyn and I was born in Sydney-Australia however I live in Italy in the region of Sicily with my 3 year old son and Italian husband. I am bilingual speaking both English and Egyptian Arabic, with knowledge of basic Italian.

I understand the difficulties in studying a foreign language as I was raised as a bilingual speaker, my parents had immigrated from Egypt to Australia at a mature age without speaking English. I understand the challenge a student has when trying to correct his/her pronunciation in a safe environment to build confidence. Furthermore, I am now teaching my son to speak both English and Italian.

I have an advanced certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) and Bachelor of Business major in Accounting. I have 20 years plus working in a corporate environment including as a Managing Director of my company in Australia practicing as a Financial Specialist.

These are the 4 areas I can assist you in;
1. Working life -expressing likes/dislikes, plans for future at work, describing your skills in workplace both hard and soft, how to come across well in interviews, writing a cover letter and CV.
2. Communication skills at work- powerful and effective communication when you want to give your opinion in meetings, present ideas and explain tasks and targets.
3. Critical language for customer service, examples of good and bad customer service and real scenarios to put into practice the in the workplace.
4. Behaviours at work-cultivating your mindset, motivation and creative thinking.


I am able to help you speak confidently in different settings from conversational to professional given my professional services work history. I specialise in English as a second language, Business English, research and formal writing, CV / resume/cover letter editing, confidence building for job interview preparation.
