My name is Sameena Malik. I have completed recently my doctorate/
PhD from University of Bologna, Italy in Ecological or Green Linguistics under the umbrella term of Applied Linguistics and educational humanities.As far as my professional career, I would like to say that I have
been working in different educational institutions for four years in Lahore,
starting my doctorate. These universities have been imparting different levels of education. I
can say that I have been quite proficiently and competently been teaching at undergraduate and
postgraduate level. As far as my responsibilities during these previous jobs are concerned, I
had very diverse and versatile experiences I came across and performed various academic and
administrative responsibilities. A few glimpses of these responsibilities are:

As an educator with 3-4 years of experience teaching College English, Applied Linguistics at
the undergraduate and graduate level, my teaching philosophy is based on an inclusive and
student-centered approach. My main goal is to empower students with various skills such as
linguistic, critical and communicative skills important for institutional and professional
experience while ensuring that every learner irrespective of their background, feels motivated
and valued. During my teaching experience I had taught courses such as Technical Report
Writing, Business Communication, Presentation Skills, College English, Applied Linguistics,
Intercultural Communication, Research Methodology, and Introduction to Language and
Culture, I endeavored to integrate interactive and practical learning and motivated and help
students in bridging the gap between theoretical and practical knowledge. This kind of
approach not merely increases learners’ engagement but also fosters critical thinking and
problem resolving skills. Technology plays a contributing and significant role in teaching. I
always tried to incorporate digital tools like interactive digital boards and multimedia to
increase learners’ engagement. Furthermore, I am committed to maintaining a motivating,
encouraging and inclusive classroom environment where learners feel endorsed and motivated
to express themselves, ask questions and participate in constructive discussions. I believe that
education is not merely about getting linguistic competence but also developing a sense of
confidence, flexibility and cross-cultural communication and understanding. My teaching
ideology is growing practice, constantly shaped by learners’ needs, academic progress and my own ongoing professional growth.
