As a highly motivated and experienced teacher with a strong background in providing professional tutoring services to students and adults alike with diverse teaching backgrounds (please see CV attached), I have the ability to exceed expectations. I am confident that my strong desire to help students achieve their goals will go a long way in providing high-quality services to your organisation. I am currently an English teacher and private tutor in Rome and have a total of 15 years experience studying the Classics and Languages as well as over 10 years teaching experience. My lessons largely focused on English Beginner- Advanced, KS3 - GCSE Drama, A level and IGSCE Classical Civilisation, A/GCSE/Transfer and Common Entrance Exam Latin and Greek, A/AS/GCSE Edexcel Italian, Key Stage 2 Maths and AS/A2 Sociology. In English I planned, prepared and delivered lessons to a range of English classes, conducting up to 5 classes in one day. I prepared pupils for external examinations, such as Cambridge KET, PET, ADVANCED and IELTS exams; I marked and provided appropriate feedback on oral and written work; I devised, wrote and produced new materials, including audio and visual resources.

In Drama, I taught students how to identify with characters and actions through role-play, (for example, a dramatized story/and as spectators of a performance), to have the confidence and ability to put across a particular point of view, to be aware of and use a variety of dramatic forms and techniques and express ideas and feelings (eg. mime, movement, costume, make-up, props, set-design),to develop awareness (sensitivity) and enjoyment of the ways groups work (e.g. decision-making, problem solving, negotiation), willingness to accept responsibility and to have a democratic approach. We also focused on technical and historical aspects of drama and theatre as well as the place and function of Drama and Theatre Arts in modern society.

In Classical Civ, I helped students work on assessment objectives which are A01 Knowledge, A02 Understanding, A03 Interpretation and evaluation and Essay-style questions. While reading through Vergil or Homer, we focussed on context, main themes, book analysis, characterization, language and style. We worked together on the different types of questions asked during examinations and overall exam technique including stress and time management. For the Transfer and Common Entrance exam, we covered translation from Latin/Greek into English, English to Latin/Greek sentences, Background (questions from either City of Rome section or the Greek mythology), Language Revision (Vocabulary, Grammar). For my GCSE and A level Italian students, my first aim was to help them improve their listening, speaking, reading and writing skills and to enable them to develop an understanding of Italian in a variety of contexts. Lessons then progressed to strengthen their knowledge of Italian vocabulary and structures, including transferable language learning skills. My approach also includes creating an awareness and understanding of countries and communities where Italian is spoken. In Key Stage 2 Maths, I worked through the Syllabus covering different topics of Year 3,4 and 5. While passing through Mental Arithmetic or Calculation with money, my main goal was to teach quicker methods and few tricks that can help them save time during the exam.

I feel that my wealth of teaching experience, coupled with my language and acting background, would make me an ideal candidate for the role. I believe I am well qualified to add value to the team.
