In current times, disinterested is used mostly to say "not biased," while uninterested simply means "not interested."
Fun fact! A longer time ago when these words were first introduced their meanings were reversed. Disinterested originally meant "lacking interest," and uninterested was used to say "unbiased."
On a seperate note, biased roughly translates to pregiudizio in case you are not familiar with the word.
