I sometimes go to the cinema
I always drive carefully
I never eat fast food
Mark is occasionally at home
2. Fatti generali
Water boils at 100 degrees
The sun rises every morning
I work tomorrow
I travel to Paris next week
I work We/You/They work
You work
He/She/It works
WORK = WORKS
ES aggiungiamo quando verbi finiscono con S,SS,CH,SH,X,Z,O
DRESS=DRESSES
TEACH = TEACHES
WASH = WASHES
FIX = FIXES
BUZZ = BUZZES
GO = GOES
*Eccezione: il verbo HAVE diventa HAS
TRY = TRIES
CRY = CRIES
STUDY = STUDIES
BUY = BUYS
SAY = SAYS
PLAY = PLAYS
Do you work?
I don't work.
Does she work?
She doesn't work.
Gli avverbi di tempo utilizzati con Present Continuous sono: NOW, RIGHT NOW, AT THE MOMENT, CURRENTLY, RECENTLY, LATELY, THIS WEEK, THIS MONTH, ecc.
Present continuous si forma coniugando il presente del verbo TO BE seguito dal verbo principale a cui aggoingiamo la forma in -ing.
I am eating now
He is sleeping at the moment
I am currently doing something important
I am working night shifts all week
I'm not sleeping well recently
2. Azioni future in prossimità del presente
I am going to a party tonight
We are going to the beach tomorrow
I am not sleeping
He is not studying
La forma interrogativa si forma invertendo soggetto e verbo TO BE:
Am I sleeping?
Is he working?
Are you eating?
La forma interrogativa si forma invertendo soggetto e verbo TO BE:
Am I sleeping?
Is he working?
Are you eating?
*Il Present continuous non si usa, di norma, con i verbi di percezione (to feel, to hear, to see), con quelli che indicano un'attività mentale o una emozione (to love, to hate, to hope, to think, to believe, to know), o che indicano possesso (to have, to own).
